Helpful Tips on the Worst and Best Day of the Year – Deposit Deadline Day!

This is it – the big day!

It is our official deposit deadline, May 1st, 2014 for our Fall 2014 undergraduate admitted students. We are excited, thrilled, nervous but overall can not wait for the Fall 2014 semester to start and for all of our recently deposited students to come to campus. We also have posted pictures of puppies and kittens throughout this post to ease the college stress- c’mon who doesn’t love these little guys?

Off to College so soon! They grow up so fast!

But let’s say you have not deposited yet and you are concerned, worried and maybe a touch scared. These are the emotions I get when I talk to students over the phone when they call in a panic, so I know them fully. No worries, our May 1st deadline is a soft deadline and we will be accepting deposits into the summer months. We prefer for students to deposit by June 1st at the latest to assure top pick of housing and to finalize any I-20 situations. If you are still having trouble depositing after June 1st, please call the Parsons Admissions Office and we will be glad to figure some things out.

Decision crunch time is hard for all of us

But now let’s say you are still deciding if Parsons is the right fit financially for you and your family. Well, we understand the commitment that it takes to attend Parsons for all four year but we do have some quick tips on exploring funding options.

The anxiety around money and Financial Aid is real.

Did you win a National Scholastic Award? – If you have won a National Scholastic Award within the past year, only within this past year, we offer more scholarship to winners! Please contact the Office of Admissions through to redeem your scholarship.

Apply to outside scholarships! – We have a full list of outside scholarships that are around the world and are widely available on our Student Financial Services Website. Take a look and see what you are eligible for!

Do you fully understand your financial aid package? – Sometimes its hard to understand what we are offering to you and what your FAFSA will account for loan wise. Please go to you’re login to the student tab to fully understand your financial aid package or make a phone appointment with Student Financial Services.

Look into work study on campus – We offer plenty of work study jobs and non-work study jobs on campus even in the Admissions Office – ‘wink’’wink’’nudge’’nudge’. Our students are also some of the highest paid students in the United States, so keep this mind when you arrive on campus!

And the absolute final option – The Admissions Office does accept requests for small scholarship appeals, while we may not be able to double your current scholarship, we can potentially close a small financial gap.

We will soon be maxin' and relax' over the summer by the pool looking cool.
