So tell me what you want, what you really really want? You want to meet Victoria Beckham? Luckily for you Parsonites, you might just be able to do that! The former pop star-turned-designer will join Simon Collins, Dean of Fashion, in a conversation about her career in the fast-paced fashion industry on Monday, February 10th.
New York Fashion Week officially began today, and will continue until next Wednesday. A number of prominent American and international designers will show their Fall/Winter collections throughout the next coming days. Victoria Beckham, known in the nineties for being one fifth of the British “girl-power” pop group, the Spice Girls, shifted her career in a different direction after the new millennium. Her acclaim as an international style icon quickly surpassed her musical accomplishments as she made her mark in the world of fashion. She debut her namesake label September 2008 in New York, where she created a collection of spring/summer dresses.
Beckham’s career has certainly taken off, garnering respect from both the public and the fashion community alike—a rarity for most celebrity-turned-fashion-designers. Victoria Beckham’s Fall/Winter 2014 show will take place on Sunday, February 9 at Cafe Rouge in Chelsea. The following evening Parsons School of Fashion will host a conversation between Beckham and Simon Collins from 6 pm to 7:30, where they’ll discuss her career as a successful designer, how she established her fashion brand, her design inspirations, and more! Not to mention, fourteen randomly picked attendees will be able to join Victoria Beckham in a private conversation! All this is happening at the brand new John L. Tishman Auditorium in The University Center.
This is an event you surely don’t want to miss!
