The full opening of our amazing new University Center is just over a month away and we can’t wait! On the corner of 5th avenue and 14th street in Manhattan’s lovely Greenwich Village, the University Center is poised to be one of the most environmentally sustainable academic buildings in the country. At a cool 16 stories, our new beauty will offer a 600-bed housing residence for students, lounges, cafes, a 2 story library and over 200,000 square feet of academic space. The New York Times has already praised the design by architectural group Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for its emphasis on social interaction through its flow of communal spaces and for our collaboration with famed designer Ruedi Baur for the building’s unique signage. We’re thrilled to be a part of this new addition to The New School community. Learn more about the facilities, design and sustainability at the University Center here and in the video below.
