Art.Write.Now.2013 National Exhibition and accompanying programs are co-sponsored by the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at Parsons The New School for Design and through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Scholastic Awards celebrate creative students from all over the country and the exhibition, currently up at Parsons’ Sheila C. Johnson Design Center Gallery and at Pratt’s Manhattan Gallery display of 550 pieces of art and literary work from students in grades 7-12.
Students, their families and their teachers were invited to come to Parsons to receive their medals and get a glimpse of their artwork in the galleries. They were treated to many goodies, including an exclusive college fair and a ceremony at Carnegie Hall which featured Sarah Jessica-Parker, Zac Posen and a surprise appearance by Usher. Not too shabby.
Now in it’s 90th year, the exhibitions also have an interactive look at Scholastics throughout it’s distinguished history. If you’re not able to drop by New York to see it before the 15th, the work will be traveling to 4 more cities this Fall as a part of the Art.Write.Now Tour. More info for the tour can be found here!
